Gin pepper is a type of pepper also known as ornamental pepper. These peppers are generally used in making pickles and paste. Capsicum frutescens is a small, pointed or plump type of hot pepper with a perennial bushy stem and yellow, green and red colours. Types of these, called yews, are suitable to be grown at home in pots and in the garden. Both fresh and pickled, gin and peppers can be consumed alongside meals and kebabs. Small pepper types known as annual jalapeno called Capsicum annuum are also known as gin peppers. Gin and pepper pickles are made with ingredients such as lemon salt, vinegar and salt, just like the known pickles. Gin and pepper paste is a spicy sauce prepared with ingredients such as tomatoes, parsley, garlic, vinegar, mint and olive oil.
